Erik Calviño is a publisher and editor known for his work on Cigar Snob Magazine, a publication focused on the world of premium cigars. Born in Cuba but raised mostly in Miami, Florida, Erik developed a passion for cigars at a young age, having grown up surrounded by the culture of smoking and cigar-making in the city.

After studying Information Technology at Barry University, Erik worked in various technology sectors, including project management, data warehousing and business intelligence. His love for cigars remained strong throughout his IT career, and in 2006, he founded Cigar Snob Magazine with his father and business partner Oscar M. Calviño.

Under Erik's leadership, Cigar Snob Magazine has become one of the leading publications in the cigar industry. The magazine’s cigar ratings and annual Top 25 list are broadly considered one of the more influential in the business while the cover photo shoots are undoubtedly the most provocative. The publication and its associated platforms, cover topics ranging from the latest cigar releases and trends to interviews with industry leaders and coverage of major cigar events.

Erik is known for his expertise in the cigar world, having traveled extensively to cigar-producing regions such as Nicaragua, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic to learn about the industry and meet with the people who grow tobacco and produce some of the world’s finest cigars. He is also a passionate advocate for the rights of cigar smokers, working to promote cigar culture and defend the rights of cigar enthusiasts worldwide.
