Co-Founder

Les Borsai has a knack for spotting emerging trends first and building community around new ideas and markets. A Los Angeles-based technology entrepreneur, music promoter, and cryptocurrency advisor, Borsai is the co-founder of Wave Financial, a registered investment advisor with $1.5 billion under management that bridges the gap between traditional asset management and cutting-edge digital currencies. He manages the firm’s highly successful NFT Fund, investing in NFT collectibles, platforms, and protocols.

Borsai began his career in the music industry, first gaining recognition as a rave promoter in the Southern California underground scene of the late 1980s. From there, he partnered with Avalon Attractions, now Live Nation Entertainment, to promote large-scale raves featuring performers like Moby and The Shamen.

At the age of 26 he became director of tour marketing for MCA Records. From there, he joined 911 Records as vice-president of artist development where he created a new business model for traditional concert promoters. Next, Borsai moved into entertainment management, co-managing artists such as Jason Mraz and Wynonna Judd.

In 2008, understanding the transformative power of the smartphone, Borsai transitioned to digital music and co-founded the iPhone application development company gridMob, which launched the first karaoke apps for artists such as Lady Gaga. He also founded SongLily in 2012, a digital platform company that simplifies music licensing for mobile application and game developers.

As early as 2013, Borsai understood that the next big cultural and financial revolution was crypto. That year, he took on the role of advisor to Ripple Labs and the following year became one of the earliest investors in Ethereum.

Sitting at the cross-section of entertainment and economics his entire career, Borsai was the one of the first to intuit the cultural significance of NFTs. In 2017, he bought his first CryptoPunk NFT, part of a set of 10,000 NFTs that are among the first to ever be created and can now sell for upwards of $1 million apiece.

Borsai regularly comments on today’s NFT trends and has been featured in a variety of top-tier global publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg, Forbes, CNBC, TechCrunch, CNN, and The Hollywood Reporter, among many others.
